Certification & Refurbishment Process for luxury watches
Once the watch arrives in Watchmaster's Service Center carefully inspected to ensure it’s 100% authentic. Then it’s photographed and booked into our global watch database to track it every step of the way. We carefully check if documents and box the timepiece comes with are original. Then one of our senior watchmakers carries out a time intensive diagnosis inspection to determine both the value of each timepiece and refurbishment needs.
At Watchmaster's Service Center, each timepiece undergoes our Six Step Process including refurbishment and passing a series quality of tests utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. Our watchmakers will service the watch to ensure it's running as accurately as possible, after which, it will be refinished to make it look like new.
Once refurbishment is complete, our watchmakers award the two years Watchmaster Warranty to the timepiece. We take great pride in bringing you timeless watches that look are as good as on day one.
The same keen attention to detail that is devoted to servicing the movement of your watch also goes into servicing its case and bracelet. After initial cleaning, the watchmaker changes into a different lab coat, puts on a pair of special gloves and a face mask. Then the case and bracelet of your watch are closely examined and then expertly refinished. Ultrasonic cleaning to restore lustre follows. The watchmaker polishes the clasp with a hard wheel, followed by a softer brush wheel. In case of leather bracelets, you’ll have the opportunity to change it to a new one, from our authorized dealers.
The movement is dismantled. Each component is cleaned in special solutions. After that each functional component of the movement is carefully lubricated to minimise friction and prevent wear. This ensures that the movement of your luxury timepiece will perform accurately years on.
Our watchmaker closely examines each individual component of the movement and identifies if any require replacement. In case we determine that need, we’ll use genuine replacement parts.
The watch case is rigorously tested to ensure it meets pressure-resistance requirements. Our precise tests - a vacuum, a compression and a condensation test – will reveal the presence of even the smallest amount of moisture inside the case.
Rigorous quality checks are carried out at each stage of the servicing process. The power reserve, timing accuracy and appearance of your watch are verified one last time against original manufacturing specifications to guarantee the highest possible standard of quality.
After a complete service, your luxury timepiece is covered by a two year Watchmaster Warranty, which you’ll receive with the purchase of every pre-owned watch.
